Elizabeth Reaser, an American actor on film, TV and stage, is most well-known for roles like The Twilight Saga as well as TV shows such as Greys Anatomy or True Detective. Jessica was aware that the role she was playing required training in weapons. After studying the script she recorded the first part of her training with an experienced. Jonathan Glassner says that her stunt team were surprised with how she performed in the first class. The Outpost is her first significant role in the US since her prior movies were located in Australia. Jessica is able to play the role of a strong woman due to her enthusiasm for action, mixed martial arts skills and her riding horse, weapons and firearms skills, and her athletic ability. In Australia she learnt muay Thai and boxing. Jake Stormoen was on the Season 4 set when he encountered a dog that was wandering around. This dog was actually a stray puppy that had been living in a set. Jessica fostered the two puppies.
