Elizabeth Reaser, an American actor in TV, film and the theatre, best known for roles like The Twilight Saga as well as shows like Greys Anatomy or True Detective. In response to a question about whether she's capable of doing sword fights, she immediately sent the producers a short video. Jessica was able to read the script before making her first video of the weapons class. Jonathan Glassner says that her stunt team were surprised with how well she did in her first lesson. This was Jessica's first US-based principal film part, as her prior films had been in Australia. Jessica's passion for action is evident in her character as she demonstrates mixed martial arts and horses riding abilities, as well as her weapons and athletic capabilities. She can also perform her stunts in a way that portrays an imposing female persona. She trained in mixed combat, boxing and muay Thai in an Australia-based gym. Jake Stormoen spotted dogs roaming about the set for filming Season 4 while on set. This dog turned out to be part of an entire litter of puppies who were able to take place in the studios. Jessica took in two of the puppies.
